NEED2D work presented at QMUL’s Night of Science & Engineering

Researchers from the NEED2D project presented our work on a dedicated NEED2D stand at QMUL’s The Night of Science & Engineering. The event brought together together key figures from industry, government, research funding organisations, and the third sector, alongside researchers from Queen Mary. Attendees were able to network and explore QMUL’s research through interactive exhibits. This year’s event – themed ‘Local impact, global reach’ – explored the positive impact of QMUL research, which extends far beyond our communities to the four corners of the globe.

The NEED2D stand allowed attendees to electrically probe graphene wafers, draw a graphene circuit to light up and LED, discuss the structure of graphene and also explore some of our graphene composite materials. The stand, which was run by Colin Humphreys, Deepak Dinkar and Oliver Fenwick was busy for the duration of the event, with visitors to the stand being engineers and business leaders in the semiconductor industry. We hope to develop contacts made at the event.
